TEDDINGTON METHODIST CHURCH

What to expect at Church Services

Please follow these Covid-19 guidelines for everyone’s safety

From Monday 14th September all worshippers have to follow the “Rule of 6”. Do not gather in groups larger than 6 inside or when leaving the building. Individual groups should not “mingle”.

Please try to arrive in good time so that formalities can be completed before the service is due to start.

Entry to the building for services will be only through the entrance from the car park

Face coverings must be worn, in accordance with government requirements, unless you are exempted.

Sanitise your hands as you enter and maintain social distancing. You should also use hand sanitiser as you leave after the service.

Minimise use of the Church toilets

Bring your own drinking water

Hymn books and bibles will not generally be available – ask the steward if you need one

Attendance will be logged by the steward on duty for “Test and Trace” records. Visitors will need to provide details for the “Test and Trace” contact list. Please do not linger in the foyer.

Once in the church please select an appropriate seat. Chairs should only be moved with the direction of a Steward.

During the service there will be live and recorded music provided by a small choir, members of the congregation should remain seated and must not sing or proclaim out loud.

There will be no collection during the service, but there will be plates placed near the exit. Please put cash in an envelope (we will provide some if you forget)

Junior Church has restarted, but there are no toys or creche available. The Family Room will be open, but may only be used by a single family group.

After the service leave by the rear doors, with the exception of anyone who needs a level exit, who may leave via the car park entrance. Remember to follow the “Rule of 6” once outside.

Our church offers numerous activities, and a range of services for all members of the community.

Sunday 10:30 Weekly

This is the family service.  There is Junior Church available for the 3 – 15s and a crèche for the under 3s.   The services last around an hour and are led by different preachers each week.   See the Church diary for details.    The style of the service is relatively traditional but relaxed with modern and traditional hymns, prayers, bible readings and a short sermon.  There is coffee after the service for a chance to chat.

Sunday 6:30 As announced

Another small service with an opportunity for quiet reflection.   Led by different people each week.

Sunday 9:30 As announced

About 6 times a year we hold a short, informal service especially suitable for families with children.

(Please note that when there is a 9:30 Family Service, there is no creche or Junior Church at the 10:30 Service which follows.)
