CIRCUIT ANNOUNCEMENT Sunday 1st November 2020
I’ve been concerned over the last weeks by the rapid rise in virus infections. Whilst there has been a recent slight decrease in infections in Richmond and Elmbridge boroughs, they have become out-of-control in many parts of the country. As a result, the prime minister has announced a national lockdown from Thursday. Churches will be closed. After today, there will be no further Sunday services in church until Sunday 6th December when we hope that they can resume.
In the meantime, the Circuit Worship Sheets will continue to be available. We are very grateful to everyone who contributes to them, to Andy Dye for editing them and to those who distribute them. They have been a real blessing and are much appreciated.
Kan and I are already exploring the possibility of making live or recorded services available. Details will emerge during the coming week, once we have properly assessed what will work best.
Churches may only remain open for a few specific reasons – funerals with up to 30 people, broadcast services, private prayer, formal childcare, essential voluntary services and some exempted support groups. Normal services and weddings are not allowed. Fuller details of what will be permitted will appear on the www.gov.uk website in due course.
Personally, I’m very disappointed that we can’t continue. Meeting together for worship is good for our morale and our mental health as well as our spiritual lives. However, we are fortunate that we are blessed with those who have technical skills, along with our local preachers and worship leaders, who can make online worship possible. We’ll circulate details of what we will make available later in the week.
Stay safe everyone.

Sunday 10:30 Weekly
This is the family service. There is Junior Church available for the 3 – 15s and a crèche for the under 3s. The services last around an hour and are led by different preachers each week. See the Church diary for details. The style of the service is relatively traditional but relaxed with modern and traditional hymns, prayers, bible readings and a short sermon. There is coffee after the service for a chance to chat.
Sunday 6:30 As announced
Another small service with an opportunity for quiet reflection. Led by different people each week.
Sunday 9:30 As announced
About 6 times a year we hold a short, informal service especially suitable for families with children.
